All In a Days Work

Okay, I promise this will be the last post about my view until the house is actually close to done, but I just had to do one more. It is amazing how much 2 guys with a backhoe, a big truck, and some other large piece of equipment can destroy in one day. Within a few hours they had leveled all but one tree as well as a shed. By the end of the day they had chunked up the concrete that was the shed floor and they had hauled everything away. When they left for the day there was no trace of what had been on the lot that morning. Pretty amazing. So, here are a few pictures of the day. To see the before pictures go to this post.

The first thing they tackled was the blue spruce, hey I think that is the state tree

The naked spruce ready to be knocked down

The shed came down quickly

Now the dirt is smooth and bare

Even though I've only been to your house once, I'm sad about the scraggly grass and the state tree. It makes me sing that song "they paved paradise and put up a parking lot..la la la"
Hope the construction guys are entertaining.

Oh! I know it happens on a daily basis (lot clearing) but to see the naked blue spruce...gulp. It just brought a lump to my throat. It just looks wrong, you know? Anyway, I'm excited to see what gets built in its place!

I´m confused. You tore down your Sugarhouse house?

Hey, I forgot Steve was a missionary in Uruguay. What town? We really liked Uruguay. We saw missionaries in Montevideo at the bus station and talked to them for a while. They were waiting for some other missionaries to come in from upcountry.

Are missionaries allowed to drink yerba mate? I tried it once and hated it. Tasted like fresh cut grass.

Hey ... remember once you sent me a link to a poem slash story Steve had published? Can you send me that link again?

Know this is more suited to an email but bandwidth in Bolivia is severly limited ... floating around on too many pages is punishing!
