Boy #1 had an art show at school a few weeks ago and he was disappointed that only 1 of his items was on display. Everyone is supposed to have 2 or 3 but somehow he didn't. To remedy this we are having our own art show featuring work from school and from his art class. It is a limited time engagement and some of you have already seen it, but if you haven't and would like to, feel free to stop by and see his show.

Beef, It's What's For Dinner
I went to the Farmers Market yesterday thinking I would pick up some eggs and maybe some produce. Instead I ordered a sampler of grass fed beef that will be delivered to me later in the summer. To see the happy cows that I will be consuming or to order your own beef, click here. Who knew that buying beef could make me so happy.

Daily Question
Ever since we returned from Disneyland Boy#2 has asked the same question everyday. You may think it is "when can we go back to Disneyland?" but it is not. Instead it is "When can we go to Amy's house again?" He does ask a few times a week when we can go back to Disneyland, but it is not the daily question. Thanks so much to James and Amy who graciously hosted us and let us eat all their food. We didn't have much time to spend with them, but we'll do better on our next visit.
Happy Boys with Amy

Sprinkler Fun
I forgot how much fun kids have running through the sprinklers. I have a feeling we are in for a long, hot summer. Good thing for sprinklers and slip n slides.

Happy Birthday Boy #2
The day is almost over, but today was Boy #2's birthday. It is hard to believe that he is already three years old. We had a low key birthday and celebrated with friends and some cousins. He is my funny, independent child that loves to dance and play. Happy Birthday to my sweet boy!

Cheeseburger in Paradise
Well, not exactly a cheeseburger, but lots of cheese and other yummy treats were consumed on the girls trip. I am now home after a relaxing beach retreat and I already miss the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. I know that tomorrow when the boys wake up I will miss the laziness of a day with nothing planned, however, I am happy to be home. The boys were so excited to show me my mother's day gifts and they had big hugs for me. I will miss paradise but it's time to return to reality. Thanks girls for a great trip!

Happy Mother's Day!
I have a fabulous mother who is always thoughtful and generous. I hope to be as good a baker and cook as she is and as good a mother as she is. Happy Mother's Day to my mom and to all the moms in my family!

California or Bust, Part Two
Apparently I didn't get enough of California last week, so I am back here again. This time it is without a husband or kids and I am with lots of good friends. Our first stop was to Trader Joe's where we stocked up on fabulous cheese, bread, peanut butter cups, palmiers, and other goodies. The agenda here calls for lots of shopping, eating, sleeping, reading, and whatever else sounds good. It is nice to be carefree for a few days.

What's in a name?
Each time I drive to Southern California I wonder who in the world came up with the name Zzyzx for a road. Well, this time I decided to look it up. The area near the road was named by Curtis Howe Springer who established the Zzyzx Mineral Springs and Health Spa in 1944. He used the name because he claimed it was the last word in the English language. I guess you learn something new every day.

California or Bust!
After a two day delay due to some health problems, we have finally arrived in CA. Our friends are treating us fabulously and we are on our way to being completing Disneyed out by the end of our trip. Here are a few photos so far.
