I have been away from my blog for several reasons, one being that I was training for a marathon. I ended up with a stress fracture in my shin a few weeks before the marathon, but the sports doctor said I could run the marathon, so I did. I had to wear (and still do) a big brace that covers my entire lower leg. I didn't run fast, but I made it to the end and that was my only goal. My husband ran with me until the last 5 miles when I told him to go ahead. He's already signed up for another marathon. I am resting for the summer.

At the finish |

That would be blood from a nasty blister that popped at mile 12 |

The boys made signs for us and cheered us on about 5 miles before the finish line. They had plenty of time to also be at the finish line! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
